.. _quick_start: Quick Start =========== .. contents:: On this page :local: :depth: 2 This guide walks you through the minimum steps to go from a new account to a working Blocks activity inside an LMS course. Overview -------- The workflow consists of four stages: 1. **Create your workspace** and sign in. 2. **Register your LMS** as a platform and complete the trust setup. 3. **Add an activity** to a course using Deep Linking. 4. **Author and launch** the activity. Step 1: Create your workspace ----------------------------- If you have not already, register an account and verify your email. Blocks creates your workspace automatically. See :ref:`account_registration`. Step 2: Register your LMS ------------------------- #. In the workspace sidebar, open **Integrations**. #. Add a new **LTI platform** for your LMS. #. Blocks shows the values your LMS needs to trust it — the login/OIDC initiation URL, launch (redirect) URL, JWKS (public keys) URL, and deep-linking URL. #. In your LMS, register Blocks as an LTI 1.3 tool using those values, and copy the platform's issuer, client ID, and keyset details back into Blocks. The exact steps depend on your LMS: * :ref:`Connecting Open edX ` * :ref:`Connecting Moodle ` (supports automated Dynamic Registration) .. tip:: Moodle's **Dynamic Registration** automates most of this exchange. If you use Moodle, start there to save time. Step 3: Add an activity with Deep Linking ----------------------------------------- #. In your LMS, edit a course and add an external tool / LTI activity that points to Blocks. #. When the LMS opens Blocks' **content selection** (Deep Linking) screen, choose a tool type — for example **AI Tutor**, **Multiple Choice**, or **Free Text**. #. Configure the activity's initial settings and content. #. Confirm your selection. The LMS stores a link back to the new activity (a *tool instance*). See :ref:`deep_linking` for details. Step 4: Author and launch ------------------------- #. Open the activity from the course as an **instructor**. You see the learner-facing activity plus instructor-only context and an **Edit** button. #. Use **Edit** to refine the content, then **publish** your changes. #. Open the activity as a **learner** (or use your LMS's student view) to confirm it works. That's it — your first Blocks activity is live. From here you can: * Add more activity types — see :ref:`tools_overview`. * Power AI tools with your own documents — see :ref:`knowledge_bases`. * Invite your team — see :ref:`team_management`. * Track AI usage and manage your plan — see :ref:`usage_reports` and :ref:`billing`. `Back to Home `_
