Blocks for Zoom
Blocks helps educational institutions turn their learning assets into organized, reusable knowledge bases, and then use those knowledge bases to generate engaging materials for students. When classes are taught synchronously over Zoom, much of that content lives in the live session. The Blocks Zoom integration closes that gap by automatically ingesting class transcripts into your knowledge bases — no manual downloading or uploading required.
This page is the complete guide to adding, using, and removing the Blocks app for Zoom.
How the integration works
Blocks publishes a single “Blocks” app in the Zoom App Marketplace. You do not create or configure a Zoom app yourself — you authorize the Blocks app to access the Zoom account(s) you choose, using Zoom’s standard OAuth consent screen. Each Blocks workspace can connect multiple Zoom accounts, and every connection is scoped to the workspace that created it.
The integration is read-only with respect to Zoom: Blocks never creates, edits, or deletes Zoom meetings, recordings, or user data.
Adding the app
Prerequisites
A Blocks workspace and an account with permission to manage integrations (workspace manager). See Team & Access.
Permission to authorize apps for the Zoom account you want to connect — typically a Zoom account owner or admin, depending on your Zoom plan’s settings.
To collect transcripts, the Zoom account should have cloud recording with audio transcript enabled, and/or use Zoom AI Companion meeting summaries/transcripts.
Steps
In the Blocks workspace sidebar, open Integrations and choose the Zoom card.
Select Connect Zoom account. Blocks redirects you to Zoom.
Sign in to Zoom if prompted, review the requested permissions, and Allow the Blocks app to access the account.
Zoom returns you to Blocks, and the account now appears in your list of connected accounts with the status Active.
Repeat these steps to connect additional Zoom accounts to the same workspace.
If you run into problems while connecting, see Troubleshooting.
Usage
Automatic ingestion of class transcripts
Use case: Capture the content of your live Zoom classes automatically so it can be reused — for example, to build a course knowledge base that powers AI study materials, expert chats, and graded activities for students.
Once a Zoom account is connected, Blocks listens for Zoom transcript-ready events. When a recorded meeting finishes and its transcript becomes available, Blocks retrieves the transcript in the background and makes it available as source material for your Knowledge Bases. Two transcript sources are supported:
Cloud-recording transcripts — generated when “Create audio transcript” is enabled on cloud recording.
AI Companion transcripts — generated by Zoom AI Companion when a meeting carries no separate recording transcript.
Prerequisites:
A connected Zoom account (see Adding the app).
The meeting must be cloud recorded, with audio transcript enabled and/or AI Companion transcripts in use on the Zoom account.
A knowledge base to receive and organize the collected transcripts.
Managing connected accounts
Use case: Review which Zoom accounts a workspace can collect transcripts from.
The Zoom page under Integrations lists every Zoom account connected to the active workspace, along with its status. Accounts connected in one workspace are not visible in another.
Prerequisites: Access to the workspace. Connecting or disconnecting accounts requires the workspace-manager role.
Removing the app
You can stop Blocks from accessing your Zoom data at any time. There are two independent actions; for a complete removal, do both.
Disconnect the account in Blocks
In the Blocks sidebar, open Integrations and choose the Zoom card.
Select Disconnect next to the account you want to remove.
Disconnecting is restricted to workspace managers and only affects the current workspace. It immediately deletes the stored authorization (Blocks’ OAuth access and refresh tokens) for that account, so Blocks can no longer call the Zoom API or ingest new transcripts for it.
Remove the app from your Zoom account
Sign in to the Zoom App Marketplace.
Go to Manage → Added Apps, find Blocks, and select Remove.
This revokes the Blocks app’s authorization on Zoom’s side for your account.
How your data is removed
Stored authorization: Disconnecting the account in Blocks deletes the stored OAuth tokens for that account in that workspace.
Already-ingested transcripts: Transcripts that were already collected into a knowledge base remain as sources so your existing materials keep working. To remove that content, delete the relevant sources or the knowledge base from Knowledge Bases (see Knowledge Bases).
Complete deletion: If you remove the Blocks app only from the Zoom side (without disconnecting in Blocks), the stored tokens become invalid but the connection record may remain. To guarantee all Zoom-related data is removed, disconnect the account in Blocks as described above, or contact Aulasneo support to request deletion.
Troubleshooting
“Connect Zoom account” is not visible — connecting requires the workspace-manager role. Confirm your role under Team & Access.
Authorization fails or returns an error — make sure you completed Zoom’s consent screen and selected Allow. Start the flow again from Integrations → Zoom → Connect Zoom account.
No transcripts appear after a class — confirm the meeting was cloud recorded and that audio transcript (or AI Companion) is enabled on the Zoom account. Transcripts are processed by Zoom after the meeting ends and may take some time to become available; Blocks ingests them once Zoom signals they are ready.
Still stuck — use the Contact support link in Blocks, or contact Aulasneo support for help.
